About Me

I am a voice hearer, critical social worker, trainer, and Chair of Intervoice, and my work is deeply grounded in lived experience, trauma informed practice, and a commitment to creating more humane, relational, and compassionate responses to distress.

My personal and professional experiences have shaped the way I approach this work; centring connection, curiosity, dignity, and meaningful human relationships. I am passionate about creating spaces where people feel heard, respected, and safe to explore their experiences without judgement. I believe that distress, voice hearing, and unusual experiences are deeply human experiences that deserve understanding, compassion, and thoughtful conversation rather than fear or stigma.

Through training, facilitation, advocacy, and reflective practice, I work collaboratively with individuals, organisations, peer workers, professionals, and communities to support more compassionate and trauma informed ways of responding to emotional distress and voice hearing. My work encourages reflection on the impact of trauma, systems, relationships, and lived experience while promoting approaches that prioritise safety, empowerment, and connection.

As Chair of Intervoice, the international network for the Hearing Voices Movement, I am connected to a global community committed to human rights, lived experience knowledge, peer support, and alternative understandings of voices and distress. This work continues to inspire and inform my commitment to social justice, inclusion, and amplifying the voices of people whose experiences have too often been misunderstood, silenced, or pathologised.

I aim to bring warmth, authenticity, and openness into all aspects of my work. Whether I am facilitating training, supporting groups, or working alongside organisations and communities, I strive to create reflective and engaging spaces where people can learn, connect, and explore new possibilities for understanding distress and supporting meaningful change.

At the heart of my work is the belief that compassion, curiosity, and genuine human connection can create powerful opportunities for healing, understanding, and transformation.
